Overlooking that this is an open-ended request for advice (it's better to ask a 
specific question), you should start with something as simple as possible.  You 
could start by trying to complete any of the open GCI tasks.

BUT ... the checklist we provided includes a lot of other references to help 
you get set up and working quickly.  If you've not read those, you need to 
start there.  See #13, #16, and #17 for example.  There's a lot of reading 
expected to get involved with development that depend on a number of factors so 
being interactive while you explore and asking specific questions can help.
