Yeah, sorry couldn’t be of more help here.  If I come across anything, I’ll let 
you know.

I believe that process involved versions of FRED, a code written by TACOM that 
tried to facetize BRL-CAD models, and was almost as successful as our own 
exporters (i.e., not very).  I think at the time (mid-late 90’s), everyone was 
just doing their own thing (unlike today, hah!).

If you get ahold of anyone at AFRL, please let them know that I’ll help them 
upgrade XPatch to LIBRT.  Serious offer.  No conversion necessary, native NURBS 
support, faster ray tracing, support for IGES/STEP formats, …
