Hi Bob,
Yes, we’re still “that close”… I thought we were closer than we were; and it’s
been taking some time to get through all of the commit reviews to ensure
everything that has changed is properly / minimally documented. One of our
release criteria is that every commit has been reviewed for information
assurance and properly documented for our social contract with users.
We started with a backlog well over 10k, but it’s now down to just a couple
hundred. I’m pretty confident we’ll be through the remaining reviews today or
tomorrow. The release is already snapped to the RELEASE branch, which is
already an indication that it’s imminent. All that’s really left is mostly a
few final NEWS items, release notes, one final sync, and then we post.
