Asad, that sounds like a good plan, but I'm not sure if it's practical for the image prep I've done for BRL-CAD. I looked at packer briefly some time ago and didn't think it was worth my time to use it, but maybe I need to look again. The "to-do" list is in the ova project code tree under the master brlcad source root as I pointed to in my original msg. I am modifying that during my current image build and will commit the changes when I'm ready to push the image to sf. What I really need is a critique from folks who have used the current image and have ideas for improving the docs and provisioning of code and packages with it. In the meantime, I will look at packer again.
