Excellent.  Having some basic familiarity with BRL-CAD will help you write a 
MUCH better proposal.  I suggest you go through the tutorials too, if you 
haven’t yet.

Propose what interests you most first and foremost, but a word of caution — I’m 
not sure there’s a mentor yet for that project (speak up any mentor if this is 
of interest to you!)…  I would suggest seeing if you can align your project 
with one of our priority areas.  This year, we’re really hoping to make 
progress with GUI, with performance, or existing features (e.g., OGV, GCV, 
GED).  If python is a particular strength of yours, you may want to consider 
doing something with the FreeCAD folks.  If your scripting is stronger than 
your compiled languages, you might look at doing something with Lua in a GUI 
project or Javascript in an OGV project or binding Tcl to Qt.
