Also thank you for including a resume. If you can provide links to one or two of the papers that you are most proud of (from a technical writing perspective), it would be good to see those as examples as well. Your 3D background is indeed a very strong fit with BRL-CAD. The only challenge for you is going to be framing a project proposal in terms of technical writing experience and technical documentation infrastructure. At initial review, your skills and background are more strongly suited to coding. BRL-CAD needs people with skills such as yours, but the focus for GSoD is definitely on documentation and technical writing. That said, this is the inaugural year and everyone is figuring out what will and will not work so I do encourage you to work with us on a project proposal and apply to participate.
