Hi,
Sean has left the following comment at Design a prototype CAD GUI layout
(#3) http://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/view/google/gci2012/8136209:
welcome to reclaim
Nikita, you're welcome and encouraged to reclaim the task (effectively
restarting the clock).
You are working on improving our usability and helping us design our
next-generation user interface. You don't need to be familiar with MGED or
Archer specifically, or even CAD systems beyond some basic concepts that
you can gather from looking at screenshots around the web or thinking about
it for a few minutes. We're looking for an inspirational prototype, not a
specific complete design.
The CONCEPTS from design/gui are what matter (the notion of having an
on-demand command prompt, for example, or a button always available in some
corner, or ...), not the specific content or interface it provided (we have
little need for a task manager or a web browser, for example).
If you search our completed tasks, you'll see two other tasks that have
recently been completed that might help you understand the expectation (the
first task in particular). You can see the early submission attempts and
are critical responses and discussion.
Greetings,
The Google Open Source Programs Team
