Alexandra, you were closer to something acceptable with your first attempt
but this obviously still needs some work. Following with Harmanpreet's
suggestion, perhaps you can try to use some our rendered shapes. There are
many available for you to use here:
http://brlcad.org/tmp/primitives/
You might also find something interesting you could use if you just rummage
around in http://brlcad.org/tmp/ too, but a lot of it is certainly not
useful.
I really like how you used a phone image background to conceptualize the
image. Perhaps use a popular phone (an android, iphone, or ipad background)
and stick to just one of our two logos: the informal (moose) or formal
(links).
If you need more time, just ask.
