Yes, EJ, you need to install SVN. Are you using windows or our virtual
machine?
if you're using windows, download http://tortoisesvn.net/
look at :
http://tortoisesvn.net/docs/release/TortoiseSVN_en/tsvn-dug-checkout.html
and replace the repo link with
https://svn.code.sf.net/p/brlcad/code/brlcad/trunk
