I have completed the task! I downloaded the virtual machine and created an
image using GIMP with my ame on it. Then, i used the png-bw tool from the
virtual machine to convert it to a black and white bitmap. Launching mged
from the command line, i extruded the bitmap image using "in mingjing.ebm
ebm mingjing.bw 512 512 64". After testing out multiple rotations, i found
one that demonstrated the three-dimensional qualities of the image and
raytraced the image using the command rt. I have also chatted on the IRC
chat under the username of mingjing123 and also subscribed to brlcad-news
with the email with the four beginning letters of choo.
