If you have tried to make a very large group in MGED, you may have run into the line length limit. This is a limitation of TCL, not BRL-CAD.
The way to work around this is to use the 'g' command multiple times with the same group name g thing box1 g thing box2 g thing box3 This will keep appending to the 'thing' group instead of overwriting it. If that takes too long, it may be more efficient to generate the script with the UNIX xargs command in a shell script cat list-o-boxes | xargs -n 100 echo g thing > mgedscript Where -n says how many elements to put on a single line. The resulting "mgedscript" file can then be evaluated in MGED to produce the desired group. -Erik ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes!
