After running X11, a little white xterm window should open up. In
that window, type this exactly to run MGED:

/usr/brlcad/rel-7.12.2/bin/mged

After a couple seconds, MGED should start up. MGED is one of many
applications in BRL-cAD ( more than 400 in all ) but is one that
provides a graphical interface to our main solid modeler and is a
good place to get started. There is pretty extensive documentation
on the website wiki ( e.g., http://brlcad.org/wiki/Documentation )
containing tutorials, quick references, and much more.

Cheers!
Sean
