I suppose there's a possibility that something in 5.4 is seriously wrong with cursor routing, although I don't think there is. I just tested cursor routing with the latest code. It's fast. On Linux, when I request the cursor to be routed 20 characters to the right (I think that's what you aid), what I observe on the braille display is an instant jump.
