Which flavour of Linux are you running?

I never had this, my machine is on 24x7 for weeks, no problems. So brltty
is sufficiently robust.
Maybe it's the flavour of Linux you run that causes the problem.
I'm running CentOS 7, latest updates installed.
CentOS 8 is stable as well with brltty.
