Are you perhaps running Wayland? That's not supported yet, we'd need GNOME Terminal to somehow tell its window ID, there is nothing like that at the moment. In the meanwhile, either use Xorg, or use enterTtyModeWithPath() to avoid the window ID question and just take over the whole VT.
