Thanks Nicolas that at least gave me something. It is char 8804 (u+2264) light gray on black then it tells me it is less than or equal to.

I assume I can find in the docs how to make it easier to identify this one.

I am working with computer braille (*-dot) on a humanware brailliant 40.

You may try simultaneously pressing the bottom left key and the routing
key above such misdisplayed characters. That will tell you if at least
BRLTTY knows what character it is. If so then it would just be a matter
of adding a braille representation for them.
