I am using ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and a brailliant 40 via usb. If I disconnect my display to use it with my iphone or another computer and then reconnect it later brltty does not always bring up the display. Sometimes I an get it up and running by hitting a key on the keyboard and sometimes it requires a reboot. If I try using systemctl to restart brltty it works at the console but not in orca and a ps -A shows 2 copies of brltty running. As I tend to spend more time at the console than in the desktop it is not a complete show stopper but as we all know there are occasions when we must use a desktop (like to get to firefox to browse some pages that don't work in lynx) and I really dislike using speech exclusively. The version of brltty is 6.0 and all of this worked under ubuntu 18.04.

Any ideas of why brltty is not recognizing my display when I reattach it?

Tom
