Yes, on reboot, but owned by root means that tmpfiles isn't done. Also, your
bigger problem is sysusers so has the brltty user been created?

developers, except to file a bug and the maintainer for this package
has been taking many months --
So why don't you just write to him/her directly?
I'm really not very happy to talk about it publicly, but Williamh who
developed espeakup and is responsible for a11y in gentoo. really looks
like a not very interested person.
I understand that we are all volunteers here. and we have work, family
etc. but when I take over the maintenance of an open source project, or
become the head of the a11y distribution team, I take on some
responsibilities. and if I understand that for some reason I cannot
fulfill them, then I will accept help from people who offer it to me.
Better yet, why not switch to a more reliable distribution?
I'm really sad to say this, but in relation with what I have written
above, I think that this really needs to be done.
I really love gentoo. it is a great distribution with amazing
technologies. and I have fun using it, but the lack of attention to all
a11y bugs and packages makes it unuseble for the blind on desktop.
I understand this is offtopic for this mailing list and I apologize to
Dave for this.
but I hope that these thoughts will be useful to someone.
