Samuel, thank you!
I tried this, but I can't see any way to get the output. Apparently I need
the host computer to have brltty too, with some device connected. Is there
some way around the requirement for a device? Or is it enough to configure
a speech output?

PS: Here is the Fedora bug where I log my progress and problems in more
detail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1584679 (skip to
comment 14 for actual work).

Best,
Vladimir
