My name is Robert Jaquiss. I recently acquired a Raspberry Pi 5 fully
assembled unit from Canakit.
I am having trouble getting a Focus Blue Fifth generation braille display to
work. The display is connected to the Pi using a USB cable. When the Pi is
running, I see a charging message that includes a percentage number. The
display does work on my Windows laptop.
I opened the Orca settings and checked the checkbox for braille. The Pi has
been power cycled. I am not getting any braille on the display. On the Orca
list, it was suggested that I make sure brltty was properly installed. How
do I check for brltty and if necessary, how do I install it? Any suggestions
would be much appreciated. Thank you.
