Better keyboard support is among the features mentioned of the user-space implementation.
If this is where Linux console support is headed, we'll need to ensure that BRLTTY is supported, and (to the point of this thread), any keyboard handling project should at least consider the implications of the move discussed in the article (deprecating the kernel's virtual console implementation appears to be an option they're contemplating).
