Hello, I would like to report an issue with BRLTTY and ask for advice.
At the office I am using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. The Braille display is a Modular Evolution. The desktop environment is XFCE. BRLTTY is running as a user process for the terminal, using the a2 screen driver. Only with this specific combination I experience the following problem: when switching workspaces in XFCE, BRLTTY freezes. To restore Braille output, I have to switch to a text console and restart the main BRLTTY process. This issue is not new. I already had the same problem with this Braille display on the previous Ubuntu LTS version as well. Unfortunately, the problem cannot be reproduced reliably. My questions are: Is anyone else using this combination and experiencing similar issues? Which debug levels should I enable in brltty.conf to generate meaningful logs for debugging this problem? I suspect that the issue might be related to the Braille display itself, since with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and a BrailleStar 80 I do not have these problems. However, this is only a suspicion. Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated. Best regards Halim _______________________________________________ This message was sent via the BRLTTY mailing list.
