Hello and thank you for the quick and helpful response! The Windows update in question is about to be rolled out. I learned about the details through CSUN which was a bit late to jump in. Since I'm not sure which version/branch Microsoft is using, we'll contact them and then we can talk with confidence about release dates and cycles and procedures. For now it would be great to have a precompiled binary for Windows. We need the one which works with NVDA on 64 bit Windows. I would assume that's libusb 1.0. Anyone more familiar with this, please correct me if I'm wrong. I will then test it and send logfiles so we can work on any protocol problems if present. I've already started familiarizing myself with the driver code so I can actually contribute rather than just watching you squash bugs. :) Thank you and kind regards, Felix Grützmacher

I am asking because this would mean our >latest device, Actilino, would not be included, and of course we are >eager to have all our devices supported without any configuration on the part of the user. The plan is to release 5.5 very soon. We, too, of course, would like to see all of your devices supported. If there's any specific release date that you need us to meet then please let us know. since you're referring to Narrator, I guess you're referring to a Windows feature. I myself am not a Windows user, so I may well be remiss in not knowing about something important within that environment. What is it that we need to do to ensure that 5.5 is in whatever release of whichever feature you're referring to? >- Last time I tested BRLTTY for Windows, I used a precompiled >binary with NVDA but was unable to connect to my Handy Tech device. Is >there a test bed for BRLTTY on Windows which I should be aware of, and >which I could use to verify that any given device would work with Narrator? I'm right now in the process of seeing what needs to be done to successfully build 5.5 on Windows. That shouldn't take very long, so I should be able to provide you with a precompiled binary soon. Which variant do you need? .exe or .zip? libusb or libusb-1.0? -- Dave Mielke | 2213 Fox Crescent | The Bible is the very Word of God.
