I just noticed a problem with this. Suppose you want to copy several lines of text, preserving the line breaks, but the last line is shorter than one or more of the other lines. With rectangular cut, the text on the other lines which extends beyond the last column of the last line is omitted. With linear cut, the line breaks are now omitted. Maybe the line break preservation behaviour of linear cut needs to be configurable in the preferences menu, or perhaps, more convenient, would be a third cut command that preserves (or does not preserve, depending on whether linear cut remains unchanged or is reverted) line breaks, but otherwise acts identically to linear cut. _______________________________________________ This message was sent via the BRLTTY mailing list.
