Perhaps this may help solve my problem: taken from /var/log/speech-dispatcher/speechd.log [Fri Jul 4 09:25:34 2008 : 339198] speechd: ERROR: Invalid character encoding on event input (failed UTF-8 validation) [Fri Jul 4 09:25:34 2008 : 339215] speechd: Rejecting this event (char/key/s\ ound_icon). So, is this a speech-dispatcher issue? Its from the aptitude repo, and if so, is it worth asking on the speech-dispatcher mailing list? Or does someone here know how to fix it or if this is the actual problem.
