Linux will recognize the parallel port of the computer, usually as /dev/lp0. You should then try to emboss the file. If that doesn't work, you might have to change a setting on the embosser. I don't know, since I have never used that particular device; my experience is with Enabling Technologies embossers, and I know a little about the Index embossers as well.
