Hello Michel, Samuel and all,
My friend Lord has just written that, with BRLTTY in console mode,
without screen readers, both cursor routings and scrollkeys respond correctly.
At this point ,it would seem that the problem is between his device
and NVDA - his device, as you Michel say you don't experience the
same behaviour with yours.
No idea what can be done...

Irun NVDA snapshot 3593 with Brltty 4.2.1 and all works fine.
At least, it runs as I expect, I mean cursor routing, right and left scroll.
This is with a Seika 40, I will try on monday with another material
(Eurobraille Esys 40) I have at office.

Yes, in fact my friend says this problem arose with Version 4.2.1,
because in Version 4.1.2 everything worked all right.
Unfortunately I haven't installed BRLTTY in Windows, and have a
different braille display.
In fact, when I tried installing BRLTTY, I had terrrible problems,
but i was told that was due to conflict with Jaws.
I have just bought a netbook, where I've only installed NVDA, and
I'd like to give it another try.
My braille display is a pm display 40, by Freedom Scientific, and
it's a usb device, but I have no indication of virtual com ports, so
I don't know what would be the best thing to do.

He says cursor routings work perfectly well with Jaws 10 and a11
demo, as well as with BRLTTY version 4.2.1,but not with NVDA,
Snapshot 3593.
The scrollkeys don't work; neither those on the front panel, nor the
ones at the sides of the display.
He also says he has noticed a substantial difference in behaviour
between version 4.1.2 and version 4.2.1.
For instance, in 4.1.2, when NVDA is closed, a message appears on his
Alva that reads: "No console to read". In 4.2.1, instead, once NVDA
is closed and therefore the programme is not needed, the message
reads: "No attachable console".
He wasn't sure what you mant by "console"; i told him it's the ex
"dos window", so to speak... I hope I didn't tell nonsense! (grin).
