I don't know which resource, though. All I know is that the kernel keeps
running, and those services which don't require new threads and processes keep
running (DNS). But the keyboard is unusable, even for ctrl+alt+del, and so the
only option is to hard reboot the box.

Uname -a output:
Linux Bloodstone 2.6.38-2-686 #1 SMP Sat Apr 23 19:04:20 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux
(The latest Debian unstable kernel.)

BRLTTY 4.2; BrlAPI server 0.5.5
(The latest "brltty" package in Debian Unstable.)

The workaround is obviously to just unload brltty. Then it was last longer
than 10 minutes at a time. Oh, look, it just crashed again. :-(

BrailleNote connected to serial line. Previous kernels were better. The only
hint is that the syslog now has lots and lots and lots of messages from
OpenBSD's ntpd showing massive time adjustments (+/- 400 seconds).

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Sabahattin
