Hi!
Ok, i have no idea on how to downgrade brltty on vinux.
But where is the preferences menu in brltty so i can turn cursor
blinking on to try if this will help.

Actually i was wrong about my el, its a 40s not a 80s.
My version is 1.25.
I have an EL40 Pocket (compatible EL40S) since december 2009. When I
branch it, it is written "braillex els rev 125". It work fine with
BRLTTY 4.0.

I have encountered the same problem a few years ago with an old version
of the firmware and a Papenmeier BRAILLEX EL40S. Upgrading the firmware
solved the problem.
A work arround : in brltty's preferences menu, try to turn blinking
cursor on.
