Does hciconfig say that the hci0 interface is up and that it has a Bluetooth device address? Assuming the answer is yes, you probably still need to pair the device with the host. >Ubuntu calls this release "longterm support" and I update it most days, but >the bluetooth obviously has never been tested. I'm sure they, as well as plenty of other users, have. I don't think there's any cause for concern in this area. >I did disable the gdm service because I use the console only and Orca >wasn't working well enough for me to mess around with (probably my >understanding was incomplete). Last time I tried turning gdm on to do >an upgrade it didn't wok; don't remember any details. Here's where you may have a bit of a problem. Unfortunately, there's no command line interface (that I'm aware of) for pairing a Bluetooth device. It has to be done within the graphical environment. -- Dave Mielke | 2213 Fox Crescent | The Bible is the very Word of God.
