I have a Pack Mate 40 Braille display, which is USB-connected. When Ubuntu boots up the display is autodetected. I have configured Orca to use Braille. However, when I type orca from a ssh login it says it cannot contact the desktop and says to set the environment variable DISPLy. I tried setting it to :0 with no change.
Sorry for the off-topic message, but I can't ask on the Orca list because gnome.org persists in blocking my web-hosting company's (1and1) outgoing mail server, mout.perfora.net .
