I'm not a C programmer but from what I know this is unnecessary. If brltty
can drive your display in a Windows environment (under Cygwin for example)
you can put Jaws braille to sleep whenever Cygwin gains focus so brltty can
freely access the display. Since Jaws uses the window title to determine
which program is running you may have to set the title in your .bashrc or
similar file.
