hmmm, I tried that and got very strange results, like on tty12 it said screen not in text mode, but would go back and forth to tty7 -- it was very strange. The other thing which is not happening is that Orca is not talking in gdm, but it talks fine once logged in, you can see the process, but its not sending anything to speech dispatcher. Speech dispatcher runs in system-wide mode. Any ideas on that? Pulse audio is not being used -- at least not by speech dispatcher.
