I'm starting with the log for no configure options, as that's the case I'd like 
to see working first. That log contains this line:

   USB interface in use: 0 (usbfs)

This log almost always means that you have a second brltty running which is 
accessing the same device. Could you please ensure that this problem is cleared 
and then try again?
