Nothing wrong with your old brain, Junior. (I'm 70.)
I used an ABT 340 until I retired 3-1/2 years ago. At that time Jaws had
dropped support for the serial port on that terminal in later versions of
Jaws, making connection through the parallel port necessary. But BRLTTY
could not use the parallel port because Alva's driver was proprietary and
thus outside the BRLTTY license. I'm not sure whether I actually tried
switching plugs when I switched to BRLTTY or not but even if it works it'd
be a royal pain. Dave may be able to add support for the parallel port
though.
I don't know anything about the Satellite but it doesn't sound like the same
problem.
