Are you able to tell if it's an actual crash or if it's still running but hung? If it's an actual crash, can you set it up so as to dump a core file when it crashes? The default usually is to not dump one. You can use "ulimit -c" to query it - 0 means don't dump a core file. Use "ulimit -c unlimited" to say that a full core file is okay. Note that this needs to be done within the shell that starts brltty. How often does this problem occur? Is it often enough that you could do some experimentation? If so, what I'd like to try to find out is which part of the speech profile is causing the problem.
