I think I fixed the unlock problem. I set unlock method to none, so that all
I have to do is hit the power button to unlock it. Probably not the neatest
solution, but it works--or seems to.

Are you able to please post a debug log covering the device going to sleep
as
well as powering back up? Posting the log to a message to this list is
fine.
It'd be helpful if you could first go into BRLTTY's Advanced Settings,
and,
from there, set the Log Level to Debug, and enable the Bluetooth I/O log
category.
I read in the Android documentation that hitting the first routing button
over an item on the screen would activate that item. In this setup,
pressing the routing button only makes a beep sound and does nothing else.
Can this also be fixed?
The first (leftmost) routing key is for bringing the focus to that item.
Perhaps it's beeping because the focus is already there. The second
routing key
is for clicking on it. You don't need to bring the focus to an item in
order to
click on it - just press the second routing key.
