That slightly higher pitch isn't what I'd describe as squeaking, though.

just slightly higher than normal.
I am using the eloquence tts with talkback. It speaks in a way higher pitch
than the google tts, when typed characters are echoed. This may be a synth
thing, however, and not a talkback thing. This higher pitch sounds squeaky
to me.
In any case, I am glad it is not a Brltty interference thing.
