Problem is now solved I think. I still don't know what caused it but I
rebooted the varioultra and things seem to be happy again. I blame it on
the fact that the varioultra uses windws ce as it's os.

development just before this and was running a clamscan. My varioultra seems
to have no issues connecting to things bluetooth (haven't tried that on
ubuntu) and seems to have no other issues. I haven't tried hooking it to a
diffeerent computer yet.
