At the 3rd Annual Open Science Summit we will examine some the most
exciting recent developments in Open Science. If you cannot attend, please
let others know about the conference and consider making a donation to

In 2012, we have seen the tipping point for the Open Access movement as
both researchers and the public have pushed to accelerate the transition to
a better model for scholarly publishing.
The rise of "Open Source" medical devices and hardware hacking has also
been prominent in 2012, with great coverage in outlets like the Economist.

We are particularly pleased to showcase several of these projects,
including the fantastic adaptation of Reprap, a popular open source 3D
printing initiatve, for use in tissue engineering.

For example, Jimmy Lin's groundbreaking work with the Rare Genomics
Institute, which has run a program analogous to a kickstarter for rare
diseases!
