Actually, is there any serious research behind this Joylent stuff? I
mean other than one night of googling recommended daily intakes. Their
website leaves strong 'hey, let's mix some dietary supplements and sell
it as an food!' impression.
I'm not a nutrition expert, but it contains maltodextrin, which has
pretty high glycemic index. Three large spikes of blood sugar level per
day is something that most people want to avoid. Anyone who does an
endurance sport (e.g. 50+ km trail running) will confirm that large
blood sugar level variations are bad...
If you don't like to eat, you can even take one step further: parenteral
nutrition!

What a way to start a discussion. I really thought you are much more
open minded than that.
