In short, Brmdoor should work again. Postmortem:
There was a faulty old power supply where capacitor exploded. In the meantime, battery that was as backup drained over days to a level where it seemed unrecoverable. After replacing power supply 1st time, it worked for a while, until it wasn't able to power the system. Instead of expected 12V input the levels fluctuated periodically around 4.4-6.8V so Raspberry behind stepdown was in constant bootloop. This part was "funny" since Raspi started booting, you could repair/fsck boot system, but it never got anywhere. We replaced the power supply again, disconnecting/bypassing the battery, it seems to be working now and for the love of god I hope the power supply won't fail anytime soon. O.
