The change in topic/jsiwek/bit-1295 allows this to be caught at parse-time as
an error.
If the issue was more about making assignment to a string index/slice via "="
and "+=" actually work that probably deserves a different ticket -- there would
be some questions about how those work in particular cases and also seems like
it's moving towards treating strings like the other types of mutable values
(e.g. vector/table) so need to decide if that's even wanted and if any further
code restructuring makes sense to do for those types.
