Okay, I've done a lot more work and am nearly ready to try integrating
some or all of this bad boy. I've updated a few more drivers (e.g.
dmfe, and now afe supports 802.3x flow control), and done the packaging
stuff, and fixed a few bugs, plus made a couple of changes from comments
others made.

I'd really appreciate review feedback. I'm going to hold off on doing
any more driver conversions. The bugs in dmfe (suspend/resume was
totally horked) and elsewhere have slowed me down enough, that I don't
see a need to rush into doing any others.
