When I started, I made my first beer after investing about 1000,- kr.

A large pot (I got a 18 liter pot for 400,-), two buckets, one with lots
of holes in the bottom, and the other with a tap (hardware store,
200,-), a thermometer, hydrometer, and some cleaning chemicals. Plus the
raw materials, of course.

The whole kitchen for a day, and a small corner of it for a few weeks.

I invite the occasional friend over to help drinking it. And yes, I did
bring a keg or three to the beer festival.

Selling it is no-no. Then you have to worry about permissions, taxes,
authorities, and all that. 



Of course, this is the mailing list for us happy amateurs. I am sure
someone else will explain how much it has costed in time, effort, and
money to build a commercial enterprise. I am not even sure I want to
know...
