The answer to all of your questions is an absolute and unconditio0nal
"maybe".

In other words, it all depends on what kind of beer you are after.

Opinions differ on the timing of it. Personally I prefer the secondary
fermentation, where the beer has produced enough alcohol to be even more
resistant to infections. Some people do it in the keg, some in the
promary fermenter.

As to how, that is easy. Dump some hops in the beer. I like to use a hop
bag, so I get them out again.

How long? A week or three, I would guess.

How much? I think 10g is very little for a keg, and 100g is quite much.

Go ahead and experiment with it. I promise

   it will be beer anyway
