The main advantage of backuppc is that it has a webfront that can be
used to restore the backup of any particular date directly to the
original location or download the particular files/folders as zip
file. the latest one's GUi also helps in configuration.

Also you backuppc can use rsync to backup *nx clients and smb to
backup NS Windows clients.

I am a very satisfied backuppc user for the following reason.

1) it is very fast
2) it does not create much network load because it uses rsync for
network transfer.
3) you can do "differential incremental" backups ( "incremental"
backups in microspft terms, and microsoft calls "cumilative
differential" backups as just "differential" backup)
4) restoring differential incremental backups of folders or file of a
particular date is easy because backuppc automatically finds files of
corresponding full backups and other incremental backups that are
related to a date.

I will set it to you privately as well because I am not sure our
mailinglist accept attachments. it has a read me that explains the
setup. if you get stuck just ask :-)

Not yet buce once I get back to office I will configure it.
My younger brother has been using it in his company to backup SMB
clients (Windows/Samba shares) quite successfully

I backup OpenBSD/FreeBSD/Debian Servers with it currently.

Kind regards
