Our client is TOP MNC in Bangalore.

 

Client is looking for consulting help from experts with NetBSD/OpenBSD.  The
parameters of this engagement are:

 

* Work involves porting of kernel space/user space services, from .... and
Linux (written in C) 

* Target/Device is x86(Intel) and PPC.

* Analyse existing implementation, and designing equivalent functionality
using available system calls/facilities on NetBSD.

* Existing Linux implementation relies on ptrace, thread_db and internal
signal handling functions of kernel.

* Expected to have some Linux kernel internal knowledge.

* Work will be on site (Bangalore).

* Will involve writing several test scenarios, make performance analysis and
developing a design/strategy and implementing the same.  

* Need to work with cross functional teams (Development, QA) and provide
expert advice.

* A contract of at least 6 months or can even be made permanent if the
candidate has very good UNIX kernel development experience.

I actually bought today a copy of the book "Advanced programming in
the Unix Environment" by Setvens. Recommended by Joseph koshy.
Some time later I also plan to learn enough to port a few softwares on 
BSDs particularly OpenBSD.
