I have observed this behaviour even on Debian and Ubuntu, with bash
prompt. When I see ps output, I see PPID of the main firefox (/usr/bin/firefox)
to be the PID of the bash process. I am not sure though if this is a desired
behaviour.
(Should the child be killed if parent proc is closed ?)
