Subject: Invitation: Academic survey on software development
To:******[email protected]

Dear ******!

As somebody active in the software development newsgroups we would
like to invite you to participate in our academic survey on software
development using code available on the internet.

In this academic research project we are curious to learn if and how
software developers use code (components, files or snippets) that is
available on the internet in their projects.

This study is part of the Ph.D. work of Manuel Sojer, Munich
University of Technology and is supported by Professor Joachim Henkel,
Munich University of Technology.

The questionnaire will take about 10 minutes to complete and is
totally anonymous. Your responses will be treated strictly
confidentially. Results will only be published in aggregate form.

Please follow this link to access the survey:
http://www2.tim.wi.tum.de/limesurvey/index.php?lang=en&sid=91711&token=d00020244

After submitting the survey you are invited to sign up for a prize
draw - we are giving away 10 Amazon gift certificates worth USD 30
each. In addition, we will gladly provide you with a copy of the
survey results.

Should you have any questions concerning the research project or the
survey, please do not hesitate to contact Manuel Sojer at
[email protected] or by phone at +49-89-289-25745.

Thank you very much for your participation!

Joachim Henkel, Professor, Munich University of Technology
Manuel Sojer, Ph.D. candidate, Munich University of Technology
